Cozy Old Fashioned Christmas Home Tour

Sharing a cozy old-fashioned Christmas home tour.
This has been sitting in my drafts since last year.
So, everything I’m showing you today are from Christmas 2023.
But I think it is so inspirational!
It has all the vibes of an old-fashioned Christmas.
What I love is the simplicity of each piece.
It has the old-world look that is not only elegant but cozy and inviting.
Here is an old-fashioned Christmas home tour.
This is our home located in Seattle.

It’s a newer build that has a modern farmhouse look with the front porch.
The inside has been curated over time with vintage pieces that have a Victorian flair.
I’ve added some rustic, chippy farmhouse decor that has been the perfect blend with the more sophisticated antiques.
And I’m excited to share this wonderful old-fashioned Christmas home tour with you.
To give you a glance of what it looked like last year.
I will be starting this home tour in our fireside room.

For this room I wanted an old English romantic look with roses and satin ribbon.
On the fireplace mantle, I gathered some candelabras together.
On the 3-foot tree, I placed burgundy roses.

I hung battery-operated Christmas lights that twinkle on the branches.
Michaels had a huge sale on these Christmas trees last year.
So, you will see them sprinkled throughout my home.

The Christmas tree was placed in front of our large window.

To decorate the tree, I used postcards, pearl bead garland, and silk ribbons.
There are two sets of Christmas lights.
The main lights were twisted inside the branches.
The candle lights were clipped on the outer part of the branches.

Here is a link to the most iconic vintage Christmas postcards.
If I didn’t know any better I’d think they were truly from the bygone days.
With a hole puncher, I made a hole at the top of each postcard.
I took some burlap string and tied a loop to hang on the tree,
For the stockings, I used some white cable knitted ones from Michaels.

I had some old-fashioned needlepoint stockings that I hung, as well.
If you get a chance this year, go to the after-Christmas sales at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, and Micheals.
These are my go-to stores that has saved me tons of money every year.

The large Christmas tree was $22 at Walmart.
That’s just an example.
The tip is to wait until the week after New Years.
Most things are 90% off at Walmart.
We are now moving to our bedroom.

I scored the most beautiful green-colored duvet set from Ebay.
The pillow below was found on Etsy.
It has the perfect colors for Christmas, doesn’t it?

On the right side of the bed, I placed a vintage print of a lady and her dog.

I wanted this to be simple, so I placed a single Christmas tree and hung some battery lights.
I really like the colors in this print.
It goes so well with the oblong rug pillow.

We are now in our kitchen.

I wanted this kitchen to have a classic old-fashioned Christmas look.
Frosted evergreen branches were placed inside an white ironstone.
Beside it I put a little ornate oil lamp that is gorgeous when lit.
On top of the sink is an old piece of barn wood my husband hung up for me.

There are seven hooks where I strung some lights and a wreath that is simply adorned with a silky green ribbon that is tied with a loose bow.
I put a white tin plaque that says, White Christmas, on the window sill.
It was simple but gave a nod to the Christmas season.
One of my most loved decor pieces is the oil painting of a lady and her dog.

It was my very first vintage find from a garage sale that cost $2.00.
My husband later had it framed for me on my birthday.
On the other side of the kitchen, I have a wicker tray with a ‘Noel’ sign that has these old-fashioned light bulbs.

I stuck some red berries and pine branches inside a white pitcher.
There is a cute little green vase with gold legs on the left.
It was so simple but had that old-fashioned Christmas look.
Even our guest bathroom was decorated for Christmas.

I placed a Victorian vintage chair with a white pillow in the bathroom.
It’s mainly for looks and remains there until today.
And I must tell you.
That little chair was found at Goodwill Outlet for $5.99.
I painted it and will link that tutorial here.
The wooden wall art of a village is another wonderful decor piece that has that old-world look.
On top of the towel rack is a white painted frame and an old-fashioned ice skating swag with a checkered ribbon.

The Christmas tree towel is from Pottery Barn.
It was purchased during their sale.
I put a couple of stockings on a hook.

I have a nice little collection of needlepoint stockings and this one has that old-fashioned look.
Inside the green and white striped stocking, I stuffed a teddy bear.
On the counter, I have wooden drawers where I put a Christmas tree.

As a side note, I found these drawers at Goodwill.
Putting a bit of Christmas in our guest bathroom is a way to make our guests feel cozy and has that welcome vibe that is always a nice way to make them feel when visiting.
I hope this old-fashioned Christmas home tour was an inspiration to you.
And I’m so happy you got to see this almost-lost post from last year.
Thanks for coming by Victorian Lane Farms.
