Adding new pillows to your home is an easy way to freshen up your space.
And in this post, I am sharing 20 beautiful Victorian styled pillows from Amazon.
Victorians decorated their homes with heavy fabrics, luxurious patterns, and delicate lace.
Keeping this in mind, I looked for similar pillow covers reminiscent of the Victorian era.
The fabrics from our time period aren’t the same quality as the bygone days.
But Amazon has lots to choose from, so I share what I found, not to mention they are very affordable. That’s a plus!
I’m also including some Autumn pillows for the upcoming season.
Types of pillow covers on the list:
- Cabbage Rose
- White Lace
- Tapestry
- Ticking
- Velvet
- Plaid
- Needlepoint
- Patterned
At the end of this post, I share an alternative down pillow insert that holds its form and doesn’t have pokey feathers.
They have been the best investment, and I want to share this find with you.
Note: Photos in this post do not reflect the exact pillow covers from the list. But they are pretty close.

No. 1 – Antique Cabbage Rose Pillow Covers
The Victorians decorated their homes with floral everything. On their walls, wall art, furniture, wardrobe, and bedding. This may be a modern version, but it is gorgeous! The two I list below are delicate roses with soft, muted colors. Perfect for year-round.

No. 2 – White Lace Pillow Covers
Nothing says old-world like white cotton lace—especially the crochet pillowcases below. I own the Laura Ashley shams, which are better in real life. These are great finds from my list of Victorian styled pillows!
No. 3 – Tapestry Pillow Covers
Authentic tapestry pillows are expensive. Below I’m listing two that are under $27.00. These have a vintage look, and the reviews speak for themselves.

No. 4 – Ticking Pillow Covers
Ticking fabric originated to cover mattresses and pillows back in the day. If you love the Victorian Farmhouse style, this is a perfect addition to a casual look. I share how to combine the Victorian and Farmhouse style here. NOTE: The lumbar pillow doesn’t have authentic ticked stripes. The two euro pillows do.
No. 5 – Velvet Pillow Covers
What says Victorian more than velvet fabric? Talk about luxury. Amazon has a collection of velvet pillow covers in any color you can imagine. I’m listing a tried and true green pillow below. The camel brown pillow covers are the perfect color to welcome Fall—another great find to add to the Victorian styled pillows list.

Best Green Velvet Pillow
Look no further. The shade of green for this velvet pillow is beautiful. Reminiscent of old-world muted green that blends with vintage-style decor.

No. 6 – Plaid Pillow Covers
Plaid is an old pattern that dates back to the 1700s. I believe it originated in Scotland. What I love about plaid is it is timeless. As the seasons change, decorating with plaid in the fall and winter months is appealing. I’m listing two that are not wool. They are a linen type of fabric. I own lots of pillow covers with this fabric. It holds up great, and it’s cheap!
No. 7 – Needlepoint Pillow Covers
Needlepoint pillows date back to the 17th century. Victorians decorated their homes with them, as seen in the series from Masterpiece Theater “Downton Abby” in Season 1, Episode 1. Sometimes the pillows were the same color as the sofa or chair, which was stunning! Listed below are two pillows under $100. These are amazing finds from Amazon!

No. 8 – Patterned Pillow Covers
I found this orange tree pillow cover similar to the one in the photo above, if not the same. I researched the meaning of an orange tree and learned it symbolizes prosperity and happiness.
Real Persian rug pillow covers are an exquisite piece of history to own.
The Persian rug originated in India before the Victorian era. According to what I read, the Persian rug pillow came about later. I’m listing it here for the unique vintage vibe. You can find new rug pillows that are handmade here. And Pottery Barn carries a few, as well. The one I’m listing below have velvet & linen fabric. And extremely affordable.
The damask pattern has a history.
The damask pattern goes back to the middle ages. We fast forward to the Victorians, where we find beautiful antiques with damask fabric. It is a go-to pattern for walls, rugs, curtains, and pillows when creating a home with a Victorian flair. The one I’m listing below is brown and beige for the Fall season. It would be beautiful as a stand-alone pillow. More color choices and sizes are available.
Alternative Down Pillow Insert
Here is the amazing down alternative pillow insert I mentioned at the beginning of this post. I love feather-down pillows. But after having these, I don’t miss them. It creates that karate chop in the middle and stays full. Comes in multiple sizes for all your pillow needs. Try one, and you’ll know what I’m talking about!
I’m giving a shout-out to Sarah Philips from She Holds Dearly, who shared these pillows during class at her design school when I was her student. This was a great find!
These 20 beautiful Victorian styled pillows were so much fun to put together.
I hope you were inspired and can’t wait to share more Amazon finds that are vintage-inspired.
