3 Easy Things to Declutter and Clean After Christmas.

Today, I’m sharing 3 things you can declutter and clean after Christmas.
Christmas has come and gone.
It is now December 29th.
I know!
I may be early in getting all this done.
No matter if you’re ready now or after New Years.
These ideas will hopefully spur you on to declutter and clean your home after Christmas.
Here are 3 easy things you can declutter and clean now!
#1
As you are putting the Christmas decorations in storage boxes or bags, say to yourself “does this still bring me joy?”
If it doesn’t then put it in a donation box for someone else to enjoy.
Here are some great ornament storage boxes to keep your beloved favorite ornaments and decorations safe while being stored in your attic or storage area.

I love how these can hold the small glass balls. Plus, the dividers can be adjusted to hold larger ones, too.
Below is a picture of my white frames I hang on my Christmas tree. They fit nicely in this box.

Be a hard nose.
This one is mainly for myself.
I am so sentimental.
I can keep ahold of things way too long cause I think I will need it someday.
But the truth is if you don’t need it get rid of it.
I’m thinking about old stockings, old blankets or old Christmas décor that is not pretty anymore.
Like this one I’m holding up. It doesn’t spark joy, so I’m giving it away.

If there are things run down and ratty, don’t even donate it to Goodwill or a thrift store.
If it’s not good enough for you, maybe it’s not even good enough to give to someone else.
So, throw it away. Eek! Sounds terrible. But once you do, you will feel better about it.

Once all the Christmas decorations are put away, now it’s time to take a serious look around your home.
This is the opportunity to spruce up your house and give it a deep clean.
Here are some ideas to get you started.
- Clean your windows. Pull back your curtains and spray down the windows with window cleaner, take a microfiber cloth like this one (comes in array of colors) and give your windows a good wipe down.
- Dust. Using a feather duster, like the one below, give your home a good dusting. You can take an old mop handle and tape it on so to reach high areas. I do this several times a month to help keep cobwebs and spiders away.
3. Vacuum and mop floors. Doing this alone will make a huge difference in how clean your home is.
A house cleaner told me the quickest way to make a space in your home look clean is get everything off the floor and clean it.
It is so true. Try it!
I use a similar mop and broom combo to clean my floors.
The exact one I use is no longer available. I’m so sad!
But the one I linked below will work the same.
Here’s the vacuum cleaner I use for hardwoods and carpet. I love this thing! It goes over all surfaces so easily. (Photo is a link.)
Now, that was super easy!
Was that quick or what?
Once this is done, you can have your home back in shape in no time.
