How to Make an Autumn Wine Barrel Ring Wreath

The entrance of my home is the beginning of welcoming my guests to come on in and visit.
I love creating a cozy space that makes anyone who comes over feel at ease and welcome.
One of the ways I do this is to decorate my porch and put up a seasonal wreath.
For my Fall wreath, I decided to use a wine barrel ring.

I bought two of them at a junk store last year.
Video of the junk store I visited in Snohomish, WA, and some other cute antique stores.
One of them, I made this beautiful Spring wreath. Here is the tutorial for that one.

I have to say this was my absolute favorite so far.
I wanted to create another amazing wreath, so this was a goal, and I have to say it turned out to be stunning, too.
Here is what the Autumn Wine Barrel Ring Wreath looks like once completed. What do you think?

Now let’s get onto this DIY!
What you will need:
Note: Listing similar items since what I used was from last year and is no longer available.
- 2 Green Leaf Stems
- 2 White Leaf Stems
- 2 Yellow Pine Cone Branches
- 2 Burlap Pumpkin with stems – (link to some white velvet pumpkins) Other colors available at Joann fabrics.
- 1 Green pumpkin with a stem (link to small green pumpkins with picks here.)
- Green floral wire
- Wire cutters
Here are the steps on how to make an Autumn Barrel Ring Wreath.
Step one: Put the green leaf branches on both sides of the barrel ring. Making sure to bend the ends to be rounded to fit onto the barrel ring.

Step Two: Cut 10 inches of wire to connect the stem to the wine barrel ring.

Step Three: Connect the eucalyptus stem with the 10-inch wire by placing the wire underneath and tying it tightly, then tucking the excess underneath.

Step Four: Place the white leaf stem and the yellow pinecone branch on top of the green leaf stem. Secure it by twisting 10 inches of wire at the base of the stems.

Step Five: Repeat this on the other side and put the white leaf stem and yellow pinecone stem on top of the green leaf stem and connect them with wire at the base.

Step Six: To secure the upper part of the leaves, you will need to take 10 inches of wire and place it underneath the wine barrel ring.
Make sure to connect the green and white leaf stems together and secure them to the barrel ring by twisting the wire tightly and then looping the wire underneath to secure it to the barrel ring.
Try not to put wire over the entire leaf stem to flatten it.
To keep it looking full, only grab a few branches from each leaf stem, then connect it to the barrel ring with the floral wire.

Step Seven: Repeat step six by securing the upper part of the white and green leaves to the wine barrel ring with the floral wire.

Step Eight: Add a burlap pumpkin pick by sliding it through the wire that was used to secure the leaf stems.

Step Nine: Cut 10 inches of wire and secure the base of the burlap pumpkin to the wine barrel ring.

Step Ten: Add the second burlap pumpkin and slide it through the wire that was used to secure the leaf stems.
Repeat step nine and secure the base of the burlap pumpkin to the barrel ring with 10 inches of floral wire.
Twist the wire and secure the end in the back.
You will want to secure the pumpkin stem in two places.
At the base and at the end. This will keep it from moving around.

Step Eleven: The last step is to add the green pumpkin to the center of the barrel ring.
How you will do this is to bend the stem sideways.
You will need to connect the stem of the green pumpkin in two places. At the base and at the end.
Take 10 inches of wire, place it under the barrel ring and connect the pumpkin’s stem to the barrel ring.
Then at the base of the green pumpkin, you want to secure it to the barrel ring so it won’t move around.
