8 Outstanding Goodwill Finds With Vintage Appeal
I recently went to Goodwill to get my mind off life stuff.
You know, one of those moments when you have to let off steam.
Well, my first thought was to go to Nordstrom.
It is one of my favorite stores for finding cute clothes and makeup.
But instead, I decided to get my retail therapy fix from Goodwill.
And I am so glad I did because I found some amazing Goodwill finds!
No. 1 – White Pumpkin Tureen for $7.99
This was an amazing find because I had just decorated my home for fall.
And this tureen jumped at me!
Video of my Fall home tour.
One of my favorite ways to get a wow factor when decorating is to find things that are big or have a specific style on their own.
And this tureen definitely hit my criteria.
It’s huge, and the white pumpkin was perfect to give a statement.
Not to mention how beautiful it looked amongst my other vintage decor on this table.
Here is a link to my latest vintage finds here. Super amaaazing!
You know something works when it looks like it belongs.
It melds into what you already have and blends in.
That’s what this tureen did.
Plus, white is a striking color that goes with so many things.
And when placed in front of this blue wall, it pops!
It was my favorite of these 8 Goodwill finds.
I love the beauty of using the light and dark color trick when decorating.

No. 2 – White Pitcher for $19.99
If you’ve been following along my journey as I decorate my city home into a beautiful Victorian farmhouse-styled home, you know how much I love white pitchers!
So, when I saw this pitcher on the shelf, I was like, yeah!
The price was a bit high, to be honest, and I hesitated for a moment.
But if I bought this new, it would have been a lot more.
So, I bought it.
Plus, I was looking for a large one to decorate my dining table.
It is tall to make a statement.
The pear branches from Joann Fabrics looked incredible when placed inside.
Just so you know, the pear branches at the moment of writing this blog post are on sale for $3 a branch. Super cheap!
I’m passing this deal on to you cause these pear branches are gorgeous!
The white pumpkins on top of the Currier & Ives bowls are a simple touch of fall.
I love how beautiful this dining table setting turned out.
Not to mention the cozy feels of the white quilt I placed on the table.
Doesn’t it make for a whimsical but unique look?
I found this quilt for $20 at an antique store.
Here is the video sharing that find and other things I discovered on that trip.
No. 3 – White Lion Head Bowl for $4.99
This is an example of overlooking the grime and dirt when shopping at a thrift store.
It was unappealing to look at, but I saw its potential.
A few months back, I went to a very posh antique store where there were cute little antique lion head bowls.
This Goodwill find reminded me of them, and I knew where to put it.
That is one of my rules when shopping for second-hand.
It has to be something I need, and I have to imagine where it will go.
Once I got it home, I scrubbed it clean and put it in our guest bathroom.
I placed three bars of soap inside.
It was a great solution to have them on hand.
Plus, I love how it looks.
It fits perfectly among the other vintage-styled things in this guest bathroom.
The fact that I only spent $4.99 is incredible.
A perfect addition to this bathroom.
Plus, no one would guess I found this at Goodwill.
This is another favorite of my 8 outstanding Goodwill finds.
No. 4 – Rusty Brown Fall Lantern for $3.99
There are times I come across things and walk away.
But this little lantern stole my heart.
It combines the vintage and rustic look I love for my home.
What was amazing was its price of $3.99.
Another one of my favorites of my 8 Goodwill finds.
When making a vignette, it balances things when placing similar colors on both sides.
You can see how this works in this photo.
How this brown lantern balanced the brown acorn on the other side.
It completed the look.
I love how this corner of my kitchen has a cheery look with my flow blue dishes.
I put some cute velvet blue pumpkins that complement the flow blue transferware.
It all looks so good!
No. 5 through 7 – Three Green Antique Books for $3.99 each
When shopping at Goodwill, I will stop by the collectible book section.
Sometimes, there isn’t anything worth looking at.
But on this trip, I found three amazing books that will work beautifully for my Christmas decor coming up.
Yes, I am already getting my Christmas decor ready behind the scenes.
It’s one of my favorite things to do!
And these green antique books were just what I was looking for.
I look inside each book to see the date.
These ones were dated 1916 to 1950s.
The book above looks teal in the camera.
But in real life, it is a beautiful Christmas green.
I stacked them together in threes and put a wooden finial on top.
It adds interest when styling.
This is another element of home decorating that is simple but makes a statement.
No. 8 – Red Iron Lantern for $5.99
Talk about Christmas decor.
This one stands on its own.
I love the price of $5.99.
Sometimes, I pinch myself when I find treasures like this.
I have shopped at Hobby Lobby, and even with their weekly 50% off sale, this lantern definitely beats that sale.
I put it in front of a green fern plant.
The two contrasting colors made this red lantern pop!
I’m excited to add this to my porch.
Here is a tutorial on how to decorate a porch in three easy steps.
These outstanding Goodwill Finds were some of my favorites.
