My Weird Way to have Coffee using Ironstone

I don’t know about you, but I need my coffee in the morning.
I use affiliate links in this post.
Not just one cup.
I need LOTS of coffee!
You are going to think this is a weird way to make coffee everyday.
But I’m telling you the truth.
It has been the most rewarding.
Why?
Because I’m using the most beautiful teapots. Not just any teapots but my thick scrumptious ironstone ones.
Not only that! I’ve pulled out my teacups and saucers that had been growing dust in my cupboard.
You know what I mean if you’re like me and love beautiful ironstone anything.
Yes, the mug is great if I’m wanting a huge cup of coffee.
But what if I wanted more?

This is my weird way of making coffee.
Just in case you wanted to know.
The reason I’m sharing this unique weird way of having coffee is to inspire you to maybe find enjoyment in your beautiful ironstone that now has a daily purpose.
I’m going to show you how I do it.
If you want to give it a try, I’d love to hear how you like it.
What you will need:
- Tea Kettle – found exact one in peach and yellow, here. A similar white one, here.
- Teapot – Found one here. You can also look on Ebay.
- Pour Over Cone. Similar one.
- #4 Cone Coffee Filter. Link.
- Coffee of choice
- Creamer (if desired)
- Sugar free syrup flavoring – Yummy pumpkin flavor trio syrup, here. My fav, here.

The way I make my coffee is:
- I boil the water in my kettle.
- I put the #4 cone filter into the porcelain pour over cone.
- Place desired amount of freshly ground coffee into the filter.
- Once the kettle is done heating up the water, I pour it over the ground coffee all the way to the top.
- I do this twice, filling the pour over cone up to the top again with hot water.
It’s suppose to have a bubbly foam on top to do it right, I am told.

That teapot holds around 5 cups of coffee.
Not mug size cups.
I use a teacup which is smaller. It makes me feel better to say that. Cause it does seem like a lot of coffee.
But I love it!

What makes this weird way of having coffee my favorite way is this next step.
I put all my fufu in!
Here’s how I make it.

What I put in my coffee:
- Two tablespoons of Half and Half.
I’m on a health journey.
This is considered my fat for the day.
For some reason my body really likes it.
Yay to the scale moving in the direction it needs to go.
Plus, it’s been so yummy.
I’m addicted!

- One tablespoon of Jordan’s Skinny Syrups.
I’m writing this at the very beginning of fall season.
Pumpkin everything is starting to call my name.
I found these new flavorings online on Amazon. They’re three pumpkin flavors from Jordan’s Skinny Syrups. I’ll link it here.
The one below from the Ice Cream Collection is my all time favorite.
It’s the Caramel Fudge Waffle Cone. So good! Yum!

In the morning when my eyes are barely open.
I’m not caring about proper ways to stir my coffee.
So yes, I use the measuring spoon to stir.
But, hey, it gets the job done. Love it!

That’s pretty much how I make my coffee the weird way.
Now, for the best part of it all!
I get all the coffee I want!
Doesn’t coffee just make you feel like you can face anything?
It’s like happiness in a cup.
If you agree, let me know in the comments.

Now that it’s ready, I keep pouring and pouring into my teacup throughout the morning.
It’s so satisfying to have beautiful ironstone.
To put them to use and have a daily routine like this has brought me joy.

There are times I sit here on my antique chair, with my antique teapot, teacup and saucer.
Sipping on my hot sweetened coffee.
It’s in these moments it feels like life is good.
Who doesn’t need that these days?
Life is so short.
I want to relish the good things.
Even if it’s drinking coffee in beautiful ironstone.
Life could not be better.

I hope you got an idea of how to use your ironstone for coffee.
It may be my weird way to have coffee everyday.
But I don’t care.
I love doing it.
It’s been a routine now for several months. I’ve been doing it long enough that I don’t remember doing it any other way.
If you’re so inclined to get your ironstone out and use them.
Let me know below if you found you enjoy it, too.

I love pour over coffee! Never thought to use my teapots.
Yes, it takes coffee to a whole other level. Don’t you think?
We use one of those cone cups for coffee too. We use it when we only want one cup later in the day. Our percolator takes care of our morning coffee needs :). Love your little ironstone coffee pot!
Thanks. It’s fun to use it everyday.
