11 of My Favorite Things in My Vintage-Styled Living Room

Today, I’m sharing 11 of my favorite things in my vintage-styled living room.
As I sit here pondering what to share on this bright, sunny summer day, I find myself gazing at the beauty in this room.
Each piece has a story.
If you find yourself on a journey working towards a more beautiful home, let me tell you it is so worth it.
Every step is that much closer to the home you envision in your heart.
For me, it was a tough beginning.
I didn’t know what or how to make the dreams in my heart come to life.
I dreamed of owning a Victorian house with ornate mahogany stairs and old creaky hardwood floors.
But that dream wasn’t in store for me because our life was where the work was.
So, I had a choice.

To settle into the disappointment of our situation or choose joy and make this beautiful home God gave us our dream home.
Well, I chose the latter.
Because of this, my blog and YouTube channel was born.
Staying put was hard, but I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Life works this way sometimes with a purpose that is bigger than we are
And you know what?
I’m glad it turned out the way it did because it challenged my wit.
It made me face big fears and overcome obstacles I never thought possible.
So, these things I’m showing you are part of my journey.
They are stepping stones to a home that makes it worth getting up every morning as I walk down the hall once again.
Passing my decorated hutch filled with treasures I’ve collected over the years.

It was worth every moment, and I’m excited to share some of these treasures with you.
Here are 11 of my favorite pieces from my vintage-styled living room.
#1. White chippy buffet

As I said, each piece has a story.
And this buffet is no exception.
I found it several months ago and painted it with Annie Sloan chalk paint in Old White.
If you’ve been following me long, you know I have a thing about chalk paint.

Here is the biggest chalk paint DIY from when I painted my antique sofa. EPIC!
Have you ever found a treasure that was cheaper than you expected?
Well, this was one of those times!
Here is the video where I share the DIY and how I styled the buffet in our home.
What I love about this vintage buffet is the chippy rugged farmhouse look.

I was inspired by Liz Marie’s blog post, in which she shared a similar buffet in one of her photos from her farmhouse.
That was the style I was looking for!
After scouting antique stores and the Great Junk Hunt (here’s the video of that trip), I was struck by how expensive buffets were.
But I didn’t let that stop me!
I thought outside the box and looked for a similar one that was unpainted.

Sure enough, I found it on FBMP.
I drove an hour to pick it up with all its scratches and watermarks.

I brought it home and gave it a good cleaning first and then painted it.
Now, it fits perfectly in my living room.
#2. Green Antique Victorian Sofa

This antique sofa was found by accident.
I usually am an avid FBMP or Craigslist scout.
After many months of looking for the perfect sofa, I had given up.
While watching Downton Abbey, I noticed a beautiful ornate Victorian sofa the ladies were sitting on.

It was gorgeous.
I was prompted out of curiosity to look for one similar.
But this time, I went to OfferUp.
And there she was.
I immediately contacted the seller and bought it!
This is almost identical to the sofa on Downton Abbey.

I pinch myself because it is stunning.
But the best part is it is so cozy!
#3. Silver + Guilded Gold Mirror

My daughter worked at a second-hand store and told me I should come by and see their stuff.
I did, and here is the video of that day.
It was the day after Christmas, and everything was between 50% to 75% off.
Low and behold I found this mirror.

And yes, it was 50% off.
I paid under $25 for it.
It was super heavy, and had that perfect wow factor I needed for this space.
#4. Marble + Crystal Chandelier

I am in love with this old antique!
It is one of a kind.
When I found it, there was evident damage to one of the arms and feet.
But that was why it was under $89.
And I was ok with that since they go for $200 or more.
The crystals were added afterward.

I found these on Amazon – link is here.
Adding these gave this piece the bling it needed.
So pretty!
#5. White Ironstone

Now, this is a collection I enjoy displaying throughout my home.
You can easily find white ironstone or stoneware at Goodwill or any thrift store.
The Pfalzgraff Coffee Pot was found at Goodwill many years ago for $5.99.

I will link my most recent Goodwill finds below. This video is epic!
This was the same Goodwill I found many of my finds in my home.
That includes the white pitchers, as seen in the photo above.
#6. Faux Red, Yellow, & Pink Roses

These roses are the perfect addition to this living room!
I was inspired by a “Paul de Lapree” painting at an antique store.

Most of his work are of roses.
Well, I found a print on Etsy and had it printed.

I duplicated this look by finding similar-colored roses.
It is my favorite so far!
#7. Grey + White Chaise

This is iconic for my home.
As mentioned, I painted an antique sofa in Paris Grey with Annie Sloan chalk paint.
Well, it continued.
I painted this chaise, a French chair, and an ottoman the same color.

But this chaise is my favorite!
It is so cozy and has that lounge feel when I want to pray and read my Bible in the mornings.
It’s a winner!
#8. Black Tufted Arm Chair

This black chair and a beautiful blue French chair in the photo below were found at Goodwill.

The tufts of the black chair were grimy!
After some cleaner and several Q-Tips, I got it pristine.
I enjoy these chairs and can’t believe they were side by side at Goodwill.
What a find!
#9. Two Gold Cherub Lamps

I share the day I picked up these lamps in this video below.
It is my second favorite in my vintage-styled living room.
The antique sofa is my number one in case you were wondering.
I love the ornate base of these lamps.

And the crystal lamp shades are unique.
I had them on my fireplace mantle in my fireside room for a while.

But after doing a little makeover in this living room, it seemed like a perfect addition.

And I placed one on top of a white chippy farmhouse end table next to the chaise.
Just perfect!
#10. Victorian Lady with Her Dog Wall Art

This piece has sentimental value.
It was my first vintage find at a garage sale.
There was a torn piece of masking tape across the front with $2.00 written on it.
After many years of tousling from home to home, my husband finally had his friend, a picture framer, frame it for my birthday.
It was the sweetest thing ever.
#11. Wooden Blue Rusty Shelf

It’s really fun when you go to a second-hand store, and something jumps out at you.
This was one of those times.
I drove long distance to a Salvation Army store.
What a great place to shop!
This was a treasure and can’t believe how well it went with my home decor.
There is a Victorian flair to it.

All the while boasting a rusty, worn look that is Farmhouse.
Thus, it is the perfect combo for my Victorian Farmhouse-styled home.
