How I Trust God Through These Hard Times.

Today, I’m sharing how I trust God through these hard times.
It’s so easy to see the world around us and not be discouraged.
To look at the ones we love and see them gone before our eyes.
The pain that is upon us can be stifling and oh so painful.

How can we get through these times without this fear?
Fear of not being good enough, strong enough or able to withstand the times we live in?
It’s something I’ve contemplated over the years as our world is changing.
What do I do?
This is something I’ve come to peace with in my own heart.
I want to share these 3 things with you in hopes that you, too, can find peace in the midst of these troubling times.
1. Every morning I take my troubles to God in prayer.
My soul gets burdened with the heaviness of the world. Turning on the news can in itself cause stress and a feeling of overwhelm.
What if I told you, God is in control?
It’s hard to believe when all around us is such evil and the plight of our human condition. It seems God is no where to be found.
But I tell you, my friend, God is found.
He is nearer than you can ever imagine.
It is knowing that when I cast all my cares on Him, He will take them from me. I literally, throw all of my hurts, overwhelm, fears, anxieties and concerns at His feet.
Like a swift wind, He takes my troubled soul and replaces it with His peace.
My friend, this is not just for me. It’s for you, too.
He wants to bring peace to your troubled soul.
Days that I neglect my morning prayer, I find myself wrestling with negative thoughts and anxiousness.
But He is always a breath away. It doesn’t have to be in the morning. But it can be anytime when I need to talk to Him.
God is my best friend. Whenever I need Him He is there. I know this. And trust Him with my sorrows, fears and all that begets me.
2. I read 1 chapter of the Bible a day.
There is something about reading the Bible that grounds me for the day.
One of the books of the Bible that has been on my list to read is Revelation.
Talk about a relevant book for our times we live in.
What I love about it is the ending. After all the things men do (to the end of time) by the influence of satan, God wins.
God wins, friends.
No matter what happens in our day.
No one can take this one thing away. It’s the truth that God loves us.
He loves the unlovable. The ones who are wondering and floundering in their unworthiness, like I do so many times.
It’s those he loves so much.
To be seen by Him and be known by Him is like nothing ever.

He sees you, my friend.
He sees the innermost parts of us.
I’ve asked in my heart many times, how could a God so wonderous and powerful love a person like me?
But I tell you the truth, He loves me and you because what He did thousands of years ago.
God took the huge gap between man and Himself and made it possible to have a relationship with Him.
It was His Son, Jesus, who made it possible. God’s intent was to be in relationship with mankind all along.
That’s what changed me.
To be known by God who wants a relationship with me, and even as a sinner God loves me. (Romans 5:8)
It’s reading the scriptures daily that has revealed to me that Jesus is the answer to my wayward heart.
God made a way through Jesus Christ to save me from my wicked ways.
Yes, we all are imperfect and have it in us to do things we wish we would never do.
I’m guilty of this.
That’s why when I read scripture it tells me how I can be free from the bad parts of me. To be forgiven.
To know that the God of the universe forgives me of all my rotten ways is enough to set my heart and mind straight.
And this is not just for me. It’s for you, too, my friend. Freedom from our shame and unworthiness.
Read the book of John to start you off on learning what this all means.
3. I cast my fear and trust God in the midst of these hard times.
After praying and reading the Bible, the last thing that has helped me to feel hope during these tough times is to cast all of my fears off my shoulders onto His huge stable, loving shoulders .
And choose to trust God through it all.
What do I have to lose?
If I’m threatened on every side. Death on one side and pain of rejection of man on the other.
What is my life? Sometimes, it feels overwhelming that I have no control over what is happening around me. Do you ever feel that way?
But I do know one thing. Even unto death, I know where I am going. I know who I belong to. I know who loves me and who is there for me every step of the way.
You, too, can feel this security.
That you, too, can know who you are. To be in the loving grace and pure joy of the One true God who is worthy of all our trust.
Who sees you. Not your unworthiness but you on the inside. That’s how amazing God is.
This is why I choose to trust God through it all.
If you find yourself where I’ve been. Not feeling secure and confident through these hard times. I encourage you to look no further.
God is a breath away from you knowing you are loved, cared for, seen and most of all forgiven.
I want to give you an invitation to know Him more.
