About the Blogger of Victorian Lane Farms

Welcome to my blog, friends.

A little about me.

I’m a city girl from Seattle. I have three amazing adult children. Two daughters and a son.

I’ve been married for 31 years to my supportive and kind hearted husband, Brian. He’s my biggest fan that loves to push me to my greatest potential.

I have three brothers who are all married. I’m the oldest.

We have three cats. Willow, Chanel and our newest Maine Coon kitten, Winston.

Winston our Maine Coon kitten.

Some interesting facts about me:

  • I work from home.
  • I’m a writer. You’ll be able to purchase my historic novel, soon.
  • I’m a thrift store junkie. I love good deals.
  • I recently started a YouTube channel. You can follow me here.
  • My favorite hobbies are creating comfy spaces in my home, window shopping at antique and gift shops, knitting, looking up Victorian houses for sale and going to the open house.
  • I love card games and have a competitive streak.
  • I’m a romantic at heart. On weekends you can find me watching romance movies or historic period series.
  • I love to research.
  • My desire is to adventure into the off grid life. I know, sounds lofty for a city girl. I want chickens that lay eggs every morning. Enjoy a piece of land in the woods. It’s my biggest dream.

What we’re doing now.

For quite along time, my husband and I, have dreamed of moving to the country.

Finally, the time is here!

We’re selling our house. Plus, selling my husband’s childhood home.

We’ve spent five years working on the weekends remodeling the home my husband grew up in.

Below I share a YouTube video of the remodel. It has farmhouse details that are sweet! I think you’ll love it!

Clawfoot tub we added to our remodeled home.

Talk about burn out! We worked hard to get this finished.

If you’ve ever been in the midst of a remodel, you know our pain.

But good news! We’re done!

We get to put it on the market.

We are stoked!

Why I created this blog.

Starting this blog turned out to be more rewarding than I imagined.

In 2020, I never even thought I’d be blogging, ever!

It was always a dream.

In January, 2021, I took the plunge and joined Lisa Bass’ “How to start a blog” course.

After implementing all the steps, it became clear this was my jam.

Getting to blog about what I love has made me grow and become better at what I do.

I initially created this blog to write. Now, after all I’ve learned, I can say I created this blog to connect with wonderful people like you.

It’s opened doors to getting to know there are peeps like me in this world that love DIYs and making thier home cozy and inviting.

The content I share with you on this blog are things I already love! It’s exciting to share my grandios ideas with you.

Put on your seatbelts! Are you ready for all my inspirations and ideas? I am.

My husband loves my brilliant ideas. Sometimes, it turns our house upside down.

I try to not go over the top but I just can’t help it.

Decorating, DIYs, old vintage pieces and living simple through daily routines are things that exude from my being. I love those things.

Sharing them with you inspires me to let my creative juices roll!

So, DIY world, you better watch out!

Here is my newest DIY YouTube video sharing a Christmas Wreath.

You, my friends, are part of my new community.

As I impart my inspirational ideas with you each week, we are creating a place where we can look to bringing beauty to our spaces.

A place we love to be when all around us is ugliness. Yes I said it. You know what I mean.

It’s in this time of unwanted circumstances we can choose to look to the good.

Be it being kind or simply getting some paint out to transform something to make it beautiful.

In these things, we can control what we do.

Maybe we can’t do anything to make our world better but we can control our little world we have before us.

So, let’s create here at Victorian Lane Farms.

Get your paint brush out. Your hammer and nails.

If you haven’t done it yet, get my weekly newsletter where I share my weekly grand ideas, DIYs or inspirations.
